What is Forest Hunters?
Forest Hunters was designed to be a simple trading card game that anyone can play. Cards and mechanics were designed with the players intentions in mind. The goal of Forest Hunters was to make a game with a low learning curve and the ability to make decks as complex as the player desires.

Forest Hunters started in 2018 through hand-drawn cards. The idea for the game came from an earlier iteration that was created in elementary school to play with my friends during lunch. After rediscovering these earlier cards, I expanded upon them and created the game you see today.

The game has gone through many changes since the first set of cards was created. In 2021 I started to convert the physical hand-drawn cards into digital versions. Having digital copies of the card made the game much easier to play test, with being able to easily change a few words on the cards and reprint them.
The most development for the game started in 2023 when I started to play test my card game regularly with friends at MSU. These weekly play testing groups have been very beneficial to the development of the game. Every week cards and rules continued to be slowly changed.

Forest Hunters has reached a point where most of the rules are now set in stone, but there is always room for improvement. I intend to continue play testing long after the game enters development. My goal to create a game that is fun to play depends on play testing to ensure it continues to achieve my vision.

Forest Hunters is a huge part of my life. As the game changed, I changed along with it. A piece of myself is within this game, and I want to continue making it a game everyone can experience.
